Once upon a Christmas time,

the display windows of the Miller & Rhoads department store were ablaze with lights and holiday decorations.

In 2010, we revived the beloved downtown tradition with twenty shimmering Christmas Trees, each decorated by one of Richmond’s many fine non-profit organizations. By the time Christmas 2011 rolled around, we had more than twice as many!

Their tree, pictured at the left, had Puppies as its theme and bore the national organization’s colors of blue, yellow and white.  There were 66 different photographs of puppies in the gold frames, each pup raised by a family here in Richmond over the last 10 years.
